| 스토리 | Beet Cookie took in a deep breath of the morning air. Sprouts began to peek above the soil. Spring had come. She gazed upon her surroundings. In this very spot, she once indulged in a borrowed (or, from another point of view, stolen) bundle of giant carrots. Carrot Cookie’s bountiful fields were too good to resist. Beet Cookie thought she had eaten every last bite of the vegetables she had on hand. But it seemed that a small sliver of carrot had slipped away, planting itself in the ground. And now, before her very eyes, a sprout was peering up at her from the rich soil. *Sniff, sniff* “Is this.. One of Carrot Cookie’s giant carrots?” What if, one day, the clearing in front of her tent transformed into a field of carrots? It would be amazing, of course! She covered the greenling in extra soil so it wouldn’t have to bear the harshest rays of the sun. From her canteen, Beet Cookie also gave the sprout a heavy splash of fresh water. Little did she know that it was already growing well on its own.. Soon, she ended up with a wilting, dry, and browned lump. Beet Cookie’s excessive care had taken its toll. Carrot Cookie, upon hearing this tale, could not hold back. “Why’d you go and do that?! Farming isn’t as easy as it looks!” Carrot Cookie fumed. Beet Cookie had seen such a tantrum before. The first time was when she had “stolen” some carrots from Carrot Cookie. But this time was different. This time, the scolding had an extra dose of helping out on the field. Farming was not without its rewards for hard work, though. At the end of the day, Beet Cookie returned to her tent with a handful of carrot seeds. Carrot Cookie made another visit to Beet Cookie’s tent. She froze mid-stride, aghast at the sight before her. The sunlight, warm and radiant as ever. The soil, rich and dark as always. But not a single carrot in sight. Oh dear, sweet Beet Cookie! Beet Cookie was busy munching on what seemed to be the last carrot she had planted in front of her tent. Oh dear, indeed. “Beet Cookie! Why?! How could you!” Beet Cookie, with not even a single pause in her munching, looked up. “I couldn’t help it. I only wanted to eat one and save the rest for planting, but.. They’re too darn delicious!” Carrot Cookie, about to burst with another tirade, stopped with a confused look on her face. A compliment was a compliment, after all! But to do in such a situation? Take it easy on her, Carrot Cookie. After all, Beet Cookie isn’t a genius farmer like you. She’s a genius survivalist and hunter! |
