Battle basics guide

Battle basics guide
Verified rules only: 12-Cookie lineups, wave progression, boss summoning and the 30-second limit, and how Auto Hunt fits in.

“Verified” marks a rule confirmed in the sources below, “Note” is our own commentary, and “Unconfirmed” means the sources disagree. Notes and unconfirmed items are not facts.

Lineup — up to 12 Cookies

  • Verified: A team holds up to 12 Cookies. The lineup and its upgrades are managed from the Mercenary Guild.
  • Verified: In battle each Cookie moves, attacks, and periodically uses its skill on its own. The player can still reposition them with joystick controls.
  • Verified: Raising the Mercenary Guild level unlocks leader stat bonuses, Pet slots, and perk slots. Each level has its own requirements (Cookie level, stage cleared, Oven level) plus a waiting time.
  • Note: Because control is automatic, most of the decision happens before the fight. Check the Synergy dictionary for who gives and receives what before you commit a lineup.

Wave progression and bosses

  • Verified: Stages are labelled map-wave: the first number is the map, the second is the wave. There are 30 waves per map.
  • Verified: Waves spawn endless hordes that drop Coins when defeated. Higher-tier enemies are stronger but appear less often.
  • Verified: Once enough enemies are defeated you can summon that wave’s boss. With Auto Summon enabled it is summoned automatically as soon as the condition is met.
  • Verified: Defeating the boss within 30 seconds advances to the next wave. On a failure the hordes return, but the boss can be summoned again immediately.
  • Verified: Clearing a boss rewards 150 Crumble EXP, 10 Crystals, and 500 Coins.
  • Verified: Bosses are either upgraded horde enemies — usually in packs — or bosses exclusive to that wave. Eight maps rotate, and clearing the last one restarts the same order.
  • Note: The 30-second limit makes burst timing matter. A failed attempt can be retried right away, so it is usually faster to keep re-running the same boss while adjusting the lineup.

Terrain and destructibles

  • Verified: Starting a new wave spawns decorations, which can be destroyed by attacks or Blast Mode.
  • Verified: The environment changes every few stages, shifting between clear, foggy, rainy, or snowy weather and daytime, sundown, or nighttime.
  • Verified: Blast Mode is activated through Mercenary Guild levels, with Giant Blast Mode unlocked at higher levels.

How Auto Hunt fits in

  • Verified: Auto Hunt collects rewards whether the game is open or not. The higher the stage reached, the greater the variety and quantity of rewards.
  • Verified: Up to 8 hours of Auto Hunt rewards can be held at once. Special Research in the Gnome Laboratory, Sweet Blessing, and certain packs or memberships extend that cap.
  • Verified: A free daily roll grants additional Auto Hunt rewards.
  • Unconfirmed: Sources disagree on this roll’s name and payout. `Main Stages` says “Lucky Dice randomly rolls 2, 4, or 10 hours’ worth (excluding Crumble EXP)”, while `Cookie Run: Crumble` says “daily Lucky Rolls multiply 1 hour of Auto Hunt rewards by x1–x5”. We could not confirm which is current, so no figure is given.
  • Note: Pushing even one stage further raises everything you collect while away. If a boss is blocking you, fixing the lineup pays back directly in idle income.

Lineup checklist

  • Note: Check that all 12 slots are filled — an empty slot is simply lost value.
  • Note: Make sure a Synergy has both a giver and a receiver in the team. With only one side, that Synergy does not connect inside the lineup.
  • Note: When a boss stops you, swap one or two Cookies instead of repeating the same lineup. The boss can be re-summoned immediately after a failure.
